Bierton Grounds

Bierton grounds

Bierton Crematorium rests in a rolling meadow in the Vale of Aylesbury. Surrounded by local farmland and fields the views from our garden offer a tranquil space to reflect.

Memorials & remembrance

Areas of our grounds are dedicated to remembrance, memorials and scattering of ashes. Gravel paths lead to plaque memorials that are placed in the garden. A formal lawned garden is home to memorial stones and ash vaults.

We have a dedicated grounds and ecology manager and team working full-time in our gardens. They manage and tend to the gardens and ensure our grounds care for the local wildlife.

Wildlife

Bierton Crematorium is home to a variety of wildlife including the Great Crested Newt which lives in and around our pond.

In quiet moments you can spot deer in the fields within and around our grounds. Our biodiverse wild meadow habitat attracts a variety of insects to support the ecology of our grounds. We take part in the Big Butterfly Count each year.

Biodiversity and ecology

To further support the wildlife within our grounds we have included:

  • bird boxes
  • bug houses
  • wildflower meadows
  • low land shrubs
  • planting of native trees and saplings

Annual ecology inspections are taken to ensure the habitat is sufficient to secure and grow the wildlife on our grounds. We are also certificated by an Ecological Mitigation and Management Plan (EMMP) for the management of the Great Crested Newts which are a protected species.
