At Chilterns and Bierton Crematoria, we aim to take away as many obstacles as we can and provide a service that is fitting for your loss.
All our standard baby and child services are free of charge for those under 18 years old and include early gestational pregnancies.
Most funeral directors and celebrants will also provide their services for free or at a reduced fee.
Our free standard service includes:
- full duration of service time in one of our chapels
- a single ‘Halo’ image
- music through our media provider Obitus
- full cremation
- ashes placed inside a blue biodegradable box
- under 18 media bundle provided by our media company Obitus

Baby services
We give exceptional care to your baby at our crematoria. Our baby table sits at the front of the chapel, where the coffin rests on top of a supersoft faux cream blanket.
You can choose to have the voile or curtain closed to remove the catafalque (the platform that the coffin is placed on) from view.
Extras that can be added on the table, at your instruction, include:
- photo frame
- candle
- memory teddy bear
Extras
If you wish, the memory bear can be included in your service. A small charge is added for your baby’s ashes to be placed inside.
Your very own huggable memory bear will stay close to your baby throughout the process. The ashes are placed in a designed zipped compartment in the back of the bear. A personalised ribbon can be requested as an extra option.

We provide the greatest care during the cremation process of your baby.
We use a special metal tray to protect the ashes in the cremator.
We follow set procedures to ensure we retrieve as many ashes as possible.
At the end of the cremation process, ashes are placed in a 5-inch buttermilk ash box.
