Personalising a funeral

Funerals today are more personal than they have been in the past.

There are no set guidelines on how a funeral should be and the choice is yours to make.

How we can help

Our crematoria will work with you and your funeral arranger to create a service that is fitting to the person you are remembering.

We’ll help with:

  • the music played
  • how the chapel is set out
  • how your loved one arrives

Where to start

A good starting point for arranging a funeral is to decide if you would like a more traditional service or to select a more modern approach.

Digital tributes

You can choose to have a still image of your loved one displayed on the screen during the service. This option along with the music is free with all our funerals.

Personal items

Another consideration can be to have an item in the chapel.

This could be:

  • your loved one’s favourite possession
  • the bike they rode every week
  • a display of their favourite flowers
  • any item that you associate with them

Other considerations can be the colour worn to the funeral by the attendees or how the coffin arrives at the crematorium.

The music can be a favourite song, a hymn, sports team anthem, or a karaoke classic – the choice is yours to make. We work with media provider Obitus who aim to provide all music requests where possible.

If you would like to further enhance your service we have a range of options, including:

  • music tributes displayed on our screen in the chapel
  • photo slideshows played throughout the service
  • recording of the service

Please see our music and media pages for more details.
