The chapel
The Hampden Chapel at Chilterns Crematorium is our original chapel built in 1965.
Refurbished in early 2023. The double-height chapel has floor-to-ceiling windows on the left side. Looking out to beautiful views of the planted floral courtyard and woodland Garden of Remembrance.
Capacity
The Hampden Chapel has seating for a total of 100 attendees, it includes:
- 76 seats on the ground floor which are soft-seated curved pew benches, positioned on either side of the central aisle
- a further 24 seats on the mezzanine level, which are straight soft-seated pew benches
- adaptable seating for disabled attendees
- extra standing at the rear of the chapel can accommodate further attendees
The chapel also features:
- adaptable lighting in the chapel during the service at any point
- air control system ensures a comfortable environment, regardless of the weather
- integrated hearing loop system
- two 65” screens, for clear visual tribute viewing
- concert-grade sound and media equipment
