Summer Branch Drop

At Chilterns Crematorium, the safety and wellbeing of all our visitors is our highest priority.

We would like to make attendees aware of a natural phenomenon known as summer branch drop. This occurs during extended periods of hot, dry weather when large branches, typically from mature trees such as oaks, beeches, and poplars can unexpectedly fall without warning.

Although relatively rare, we have already experienced two such incidents on site this summer. Thankfully, no one was harmed, but we want to take proactive steps to ensure your continued safety while visiting our grounds.

We kindly ask all visitors to remain vigilant and avoid standing or sitting directly beneath large trees, particularly during or after very hot weather. Our grounds and ecology team are monitoring tree health closely, and additional safety checks are being carried out regularly.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to maintain a peaceful and safe environment for all.
