Chilterns Crematorium Celebrates Gold Award for Excellence

We’re proud to share that Buckinghamshire Council has once again been awarded Gold by the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM) – a recognition that highlights our continued commitment to providing the very best service to our community.

This marks the fifth year in a row that we’ve achieved the top award, which is based on a detailed annual assessment against the ICCM’s Charter for the Bereaved. The process looks at everything from how we care for families to how we manage cremation, burial, and environmental practices, all 382 aspects of it!

Marko, Crematoria Team Manager, said:
“All of our team across our funeral services work incredibly hard to make sure bereaved families and funeral directors receive the highest standard of care. We aim to deliver a truly ‘gold ribbon service’, so I’m really proud that this has been recognised by our industry peers once again.”

This is also the second year that our submission has included our cemetery services, showing just how much our team’s dedication continues to grow and evolve.

About Our Services:

Buckinghamshire Funeral Services supports communities across the county with a range of bereavement services. This includes Chilterns Crematorium in Amersham, Bierton Crematorium near Aylesbury, Cemetery services at Great Missenden, Penn Road, High Wycombe, Park Side, Shepherds Lane, and Holtspur.

The Charter for the Bereaved, developed by the ICCM in 1996, sets out clear standards for compassion, dignity, and care. Being awarded Gold is not just a badge, it’s a reassurance to the public that we’re delivering services that meet the highest standards every day.
We’re incredibly proud of our team and the care they put into their work, and we’d like to thank our community for the trust you place in us. As always, we remain committed to supporting families with warmth, respect, and excellence.
