Supporting Local Charities Through Volunteering

We’re proud to share a heart-warming example of our team giving back to the local community.
Recently, three members of our Crematoria admin team โ€“ Jeanette, Harsha and Sandra โ€“ took part in a volunteer day at Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, whose head office is based right here in Amersham. This incredible charity provides specialist nurses and vital support to children living with complex, lifelong conditions.
When the charity needed urgent support to deliver a large-scale letter campaign for their upcoming Christmas Appeal, our team stepped in at short notice, and rose to the challenge! Thanks to their dedication, every single letter the charity had hoped to send was prepared and posted. (Though we did hear there were a few sore arms the next day! ๐Ÿ˜…)

Jamie-Lee, the charity’s Individual Giving Manager, shared this kind feedback:
“I just wanted to thank you so much for helping to organise Wednesday’s volunteering session with us. The team was an incredible help, and we honestly couldn’t have prepared our Christmas Appeal letters for posting without them.”

This volunteering opportunity was made possible through Buckinghamshire Council’s employee volunteer scheme, which empowers staff to support meaningful local causes and community-led initiatives.

We’re incredibly proud of our team for the positive impact they made โ€” and equally proud to be part of a council that supports these valuable moments of connection and care.
